Questions:
Q. What is the MDI
mini-implant system?
A. The MDI mini-implant system consists of a miniature titanium implant that acts
like the root
of your tooth and a retaining fixture that is incorporated into the base
of your
denture.
The head of the implant is shaped like a ball, and the retaining
fixture acts
like a socket that contains a rubber O-ring. The O-ring snaps over the
ball when the denture is seated and holds the denture at a predetermined level
of
force. When seated, the denture gently rests on the gum tissue.
The implant
fixtures allow for micro-mobility while withstanding natural lifting
forces.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Mini-implants are far less expensive than regular full-size
implants used to
anchor crowns and bridges. In fact, you can have 4 mini-implants to
secure a
loose lower denture for the cost of a single full-size implant.
An implant for a crown is about 1/3 the cost of a full-size implant.
Q. Does it
hurt?
A. No. We don't even start the procedure until you are completely
ready, and
the doctor doesn't even have to numb your whole jaw....just the area
where the
implants are being placed. Nearly all of our mini-implant patients say they didn't
feel any
pain whatsoever.

General Questions:
Q.
What are the primary benefits for having Mini-Implants?
A. Securely fitting dentures or a single crown in just one day! That means you
can enjoy eating
all of your favorite foods and laughing without fear.
Q. Can anyone have
Mini-Implants?
A. Not always. Severe diabetes may cause difficulty in healing, and
patients with
any serious health issues should not have the procedure without approval of their
primary medical doctor. Patients with a serious addiction to cigarettes
should
consider cutting back on how often they smoke each day prior to and
after
having Mini-Implants placed.

Q. I just had my dentist make me a new set of dentures.
Can I still have Mini-Implants?
A. Yes. In fact, the newer they are and the nicer they look is
the best time to
have mini-implants. Unfortunately, less than 10% of all dentists have
the training
and experience to do Mini-Implants, but Dr. Scott will be very happy to
help you
using your current dentures. In fact, he prefers saving you time
and money by
using your old dentures, unless they are too old an worn out.

Q. Can I go to any dentist to get Mini-Implants?
A. No. As mentioned above, less than 10% of all dentists have
the training and
experience to do Mini-Implants. Doctor Scott is certified to use
the IMTEC
Mini-Implant System and also has many years of implant and prosthetic
(dentures)
experience. We will gladly work in harmony with what your own dentist
has done
for you by improving your existing dentures and partials with
mini-implants.

Q. Can I have a payment plan?
A. Yes. We offer several choices of payment, including
interest-free monthly
payments for 12 months. Mini-implants are far less expensive than
regular full-size
implants used to anchor crowns and bridges. In fact, you can have 4
mini-implants
to secure a loose lower denture for the cost of one full-size implant
and crown.
